So, you want to be a trailblazer? 2

Have you ever enjoyed a nice hike through the woods? Just being able to get away from technology and the hustle and bustle of life is so refreshing. I love experiencing nature in it’s most raw form. I’m so thankful for the beaten paths that I get to walk on when I’m hiking. Then I start to think about what that hike would be like if there were no path beaten for me to walk on…

When I think about those original trailblazers, I first think how awesome it must have been to get to find where the paths should go. But when I really begin to dig a little deeper, I think about all the trouble it must have been to lay that path down. What about the briers at your legs and ankles… Or the tree branches that must have smacked your face and scratched your arms as your walked the path the first few times. And surely there must have been cobwebs all about. Isn’t that the most awful feeling? Walking through a cobweb… It makes me shiver just thinking about it! You don’t even know if there was a spider in that thing! Just picture it – I’ve decided to call it the Spiderweb Dance – really picture it. Imagine the rocks and boulders that can lay in the way and have to be chiseled down. Some are so large it takes explosives to get rid of them. Think about laying the steps down that help others to get up or down a steep hill. What kinds of creatures lay low to the ground under the brush? Snakes, creepy crawlers, yellow-jackets…

It doesn’t sound quite so glamorous anymore, does it? It actually sounds kind of painful and even dangerous at times. I think it’s this way any time we blaze new trails. There is risk involved and we will experience some type of backlash, especially if there has never been a trail in this arena before. And what about the times someone else has tried to lay that path but hurt themselves or someone else in the process. Now there may be damage done or hurts to heal so it may be even more difficult for you to lay that path. But, gosh, how thankful I am for those who have gone before me to lay down the paths I walk on today.

Be a trailblazer yourself! Just remember to bring your brush-guard for protection.

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Superb work!|
